Hong Kong is losing its ass.

Damn, you are one dumb mother ****er aren’t you? Have you seen the us futures trumpty numpty?

And why would I ever find pleasure in someone else misery anyway? You are one ****ed up individual.
Lol, don't act like you don't find pleasure in the market pullback.

Oh man, when I first saw you actually responded to me, I thought it was for one of the several requests or questions I have thrown at you the last several days. It wasn’t because you are a spineless twat that has zero substance for the bull shit you spew. So seriously, shut your ****ing mouth you turd.

But hey, at least you somewhat admitted it wasn’t just a 9% drop, clown. lol. Another thread you dropped a complete lie in and ran away, never to be seen again. Turd.

And if you really think for one second that I find any joy in watching your dear leader crater the economy and the stock market, you are a bigger Moran than I could have ever given you credit for. My livelihood literally depends on the stock market I don’t find what your president is doing to be amusing at all.

Well there you have it.

For the rest of us, as long as it goes back up sooner than later I am fine with a dip. I have made a couple purchases during the 'sale'. We will see how it turns out.

This triggering a longer term recession certainly concerns me.

So, simple question I have been thinking about...if our tariffs are truly simply a tax on Americans and not the producers, and I can see how this could be, how wouldnt reciprocal tariffs be a tax on the EU for example? Why would they place them if they know it hurts their economies and taxes their people? This seems counter productive if what people say is true is. That tariffs only hurt the country placing them.

Serious answers only. It seems to me that this thing is far more complicated than it seems and hasnt been tried in the current era with trade being so lopsided.

I for one am hopeful this is leverage and we get to zero trade with our main partners, Canada, Mexico, the EU, and the non-China SE Asia countries.

One example of why Europe does it: Germany has a 10% tariff on foreign automobiles. Why? Because their economy is highly dependent on their auto industry to stay afloat. Now, I actually think that is bad policy and they should find ways to ween themselves off their auto dependency, but it is fair to say the tariff is highly correlated with their national identity and given their auto concentration it protects a critical industry.

It is sector specific and not dissimilar to things every president in the US has done including Biden.

It is nowhere close to the same thing as blanket tariffs on every good against every nation.

I'm being 100% serious, what are you talking about when you say "lopsided trade" and is it realistic for any singular nation to be trade neutral with the world's singular super power?

Dammit Whiskey do we have to disagree about everything? 😜

I like you too much to not find some common ground. You do at least like boobs and the Hawkeyes I hope…right?

Right?
Love the mammories, boob guy > butt guy.

Love the Hawks.

Lets see what else:

Strawberry milk is better than chocolate.

Sweet pickles are better than dill.

A natural 8 is better than a modified 9.

3 best beers Airport beers, shower beers, tailgating beers.

There is no such thing as an attractive redhead.

Asians are more attractive than Italians but the English accent is the sexiest.

I'm basically just your run of thr mill centrist.

Unless they are motivated to ween themselves off their dependency, it won't happen.

Trump is motivating them.

Love the mammories, boob guy > butt guy. Yes

Love the Hawks. Yes

Lets see what else:

Strawberry milk is better than chocolate. White milk for the win…is that racist?

Sweet pickles are better than dill. Yes.

A natural 8 is better than a modified 9. Yes

3 best beers Airport beers, shower beers, tailgating beers. Partial credit. Pool float and beers on a hot day should be included.

There is no such thing as an attractive redhead. No. See Emma Stone.

I'm basically just your run of thr mill centrist. You are pretty right of center, but not quite off the deep end yet IMO…although I see you testing the deep water and I hope you walk back towards the center.
Some good common ground in there.

It’s a good question but probably not real simple. I am sure each country has their own intricacies on tariffs and use them to protect their most important and necessary industries for economic survival. Hawkeyetravelers example of the EU’s 10% tariff is a good one.

As far as the rest of your post. I hope you are right. I am nowhere near as confident as you are that trump is simply using this as leverage to get better trade deals for America. Should that prove to be the case and he actually pulls it off, I will be one of the first to tip my cap and admit I was wrong. I doubt that will be necessary though.
