B1G has time to see what a disaster is going to happen by being so stringent, and adjust protocols appropriately. Hopefully.B1G is headed this way. Unrealistic protocols put in place with zero wiggle room for make up dates.
If they dont eliminate the issue, theyre nearly useless over traditional tests. The point is to be able to test every day eliminating the need to sit out due to contract tracing. Tracing is still valauble for those in contact outside of the daily test candiates, but otherwise, whats the point right?Baylor-Houston is all about contact tracing, not positive tests. Do these new daily tests, soon to be available, help eliminate This issue? If not, it will take a miracle to get a season in, IMO.
From the article, below;
Due to local goverment guidelines, contact tracing, not positive results of conducted COVID-19 tests on football players and staff members, led to the decision to cancel the game. Because of the guidelines in place, multiple Baylor players were set to miss the game as a direct result of contact tracing and not due to positive COVID-19 tests, thesource said.
Several Baylor players who were set to miss the game did not receive a single positive test, and despite also receiving multiple negative tests in the same time frame, were not allowed to return to team activities because of local regulations in place for contact tracing.
did they get hit early on? Logically, youd think those hard hit campus from early summer will not have any issues this season.
So this is a local thing with Baylor. Either the Big 12 get rapid result test or Baylor is playing something like 4 games this year.
