How bout them Hawks!

That same Maryland team Iowa ran out of the gym, played at Purdue to the buzzer yesterday.
You got that right. Iowa put up 110 @ Maryland. Purdue, the team BTN gurus anointed less than a week ago as a Final Four team that wouldn't lose the rest of the regular season, has gone on to be blown out by Michigan and lucked out a 62-61 win over that same Maryland team on Purdue's home court yesterday. And Maryland missed a layup with four seconds left that would have beaten the Boilers.

To be a good or great team, you have to beat the teams you should beat. Iowa has been doing that, and then some. Now they need to keep winning at home. Take at least 2 of the next 3, and the Hawkeyes are in very good shape.

For once, Iowa may be getting on a roll at the right time. The next seven days will tell us a lot about that. But when you put up 110 on the road vs. Maryland, and Purdue puts up 62 a few days later on its home court against that same Maryland team, well, it's tough to see how that's a bad thing for Iowa. LOL

The next three will tell us a lot. I would be thrilled if the Hawks found a way to win 2 of them.

It’s still called taking care of business. Keep it going Hawks.

I thought Nebraska got some real easy baskets, too often in stretches. Hope that is addressed against better teams

I actually think when we pulled the foot off the gas offensively it effected our defensive intensity.

I want to be optimistic about rotations and the team finding something. I think we’ve all known for a while now we need more Kris and Payton, less Connor and JBo but then suddenly Jbo looks more comfortable… I just keep reminding myself that we’ve played some absolutely terrible teams.

I think somehow Iowa ends up 10-10 or maybe even 11-9 in conference. I am no braketolegist but I hear that puts us safely in. While I don’t expect much in the tourney, who knows? Watch Fran somehow get this team to the second weekend and all will be well, right?

Literally the three worst teams in the league. Two of them at home.
And that's literally all they have to do to get an 8-9 seed in the dance. Beat the teams they're favored to beat and they're in. If they can sneak in a win or 2 against the others it only helps their seeding.

With fourteen minutes left in the game, we had held the bugeaters to 39 points and were up by 36. Coasting to the end was kind of inevitable and understandable.

I'm pretty bullish on this team.

Especially if we can get more Kris Murray and Joe T. Of course, let's hope also JBo really is coming out of his shooting funk.

Keegan is crazy good scoring the ball but is a helluva defender too! Seems to spark the whole team defensively. Never seen a Hawk like him.

We are playing our best basketball of the Fran era right now. Even the defense and the rebounding have gotten better. Keegan looks like an all-world player and guys like Sandfort are realizing their potential. If we can keep this going and finish strong, we just might have a deeper run in the B1G and NCAA tourneys.

I think Sandfort is the X-factor
If he starts scoring 10-15 points a game the composition of this team changes big time.
I’m still wary of our performances against top notch competition , but the last few games have definitely started to point the needle up .

i don’t have any idea what his points per minute are, but most guys need 25-30 mins to sniff those stats.

It’s tough to score in double figures. People act like it’s a given that he had a good game. Now just put it on repeat
