I pulled together where sacks have come from the last 5 years as reference:

2015 - 30
DE:
15 (Meier 7, Ott 5, Hesse 2, M Nelson 1)
DT: 6 (J Johnson 3.5, Bazata 2.5)
LB: 8 (Jewell 3, Niemann 3)
DB: 1

2016 - 28
DE:
14.5 (A Nelson 6, M Nelson 5, Hesse 3.5)
DT: 10 (J Johnson 7.5, Bazata 1.5, Lattimore 1)
LB: 2.5
DB: 1

2017 - 29
DE:
16 (A Nelson 7.5, Epenesa 4.5, Hesse 4)
DT: 6.5 (Bazata 3, Lattimore 1.5, M Nelson 1, Reiff 1)
LB: 6.5 (Jewell 4.5)
DB: 0

2018 - 35
DE:
27.5 (Epenesa 10.5, A Nelson 9.5, Hesse 4, Gholston 3.5, Reiff 1)
DT: 3 (M Nelson 1, Lattimore 1, Reiff 1)
LB: 3.5
DB: 1

2019 - 33
DE:
20.5 (Epenesa 11.5, Evans 4, Gholston 3, Waggoner 1, Jones 1)
DT: 6.5 (Nixon 3, Lattimore 2.5, Reiff 1)
LB: 3
DB: 3

So, on average, to get to 30 sacks it looks something like this:

DE: 20
DT: 6
LB: 3
DB:1

Our candidates this year:

DE: Gholston, Evans, Waggoner, VanValkenburg
DT: Nixon, Schulte, Shannon, Lee, L Jones (FR)
LB: Niemann, Colbert, Doyle, Wade, Campbell, Benson

Looking at that list, here's my guesses on sacks:

DE: 18 (Gholston 8.5, Evans 6.5, Waggoner 2, VV 1) - big jumps for Gholston and Evans doable?
DT: 8 (Nixon 6, Shannon 2, Schulte 1, Lee 1) - not sure Nixon can get to 6, hard for a DT in our scheme imo
LB: 3 (Niemann 2, Campbell 1)
DB: 1
30.0

What do you think?

I honestly think we'll fall in the 26-28 range, but we'll see. Our DL depth looks scary - if one of our better pass rushers gets hurt, yikes!
