If anything, that loss made Iowa mad, and they played like it yesterday. I actually felt sorry for Northwestern for the beating they took.

If Iowa hadn't gotten outrebounded in the 1st game by 28, we also wouldn't be having this conversation.
He's probably less of an NBA prospect than Garza was. It will be interesting to see what his next career move is if he moves on.
Curbelo is a mixed bag. He can be great on minute and totally out of control the next. Blew a key layup in this game and went 1-7 overall.

He lost a chance at a $15k bonus by losing the game. Losing to Indiana (or Missouri) is such a "no big deal" thing, they pay him a $15k bonus whenever he doesn't.
All these games matter, they are setting up that tournament mindset for the teams.
To be clear, my point of this thread was that Illinois has deprived us of our chance for revenge on them because they played against Indiana like they played against Penn St - long scoring droughts, allowing layup after layup, etc. It just seems strange that they play at such a high level against us every time. I was looking forward to getting a chance at a win against them and NCAA seed improvement; beating Indiana won't be nearly as meaningful, as Iowa will be expected to hold serve.
Still, it looks like we're a solid #6 with still a chance at better if we can win the whole thing.

Rumors I've heard are that KSU wants to go after Underwood as coach. Evidently, Illinois is just the farm system for Kansas State.

Wonder why they didn't just forfeit and stay home?
I really think that they thought they could coast against Indy and save their best for Iowa. Not the brightest bunch.
