How come Illinois doesn’t play like total dumb sh*ts against US?

Exactly. Shouldve won by 7 or 8.

Because we don't anyone that scares them. Kofi thinks he can do anything against anyone we send at him. The guards think they can take anyone we have, to the rim, at any time they want. We don't have to see them again and that's good

Curbelo is a mixed bag. He can be great on minute and totally out of control the next. Blew a key layup in this game and went 1-7 overall.

I saw a quote supposedly by Underwood that totally brushed off this game like it didn't matter and they were just practicing for the real tournament next week. Wonder what his thoughts would be if they'd won.

He lost a chance at a $15k bonus by losing the game. Losing to Indiana (or Missouri) is such a "no big deal" thing, they pay him a $15k bonus whenever he doesn't.

All these games matter, they are setting up that tournament mindset for the teams.

To be clear, my point of this thread was that Illinois has deprived us of our chance for revenge on them because they played against Indiana like they played against Penn St - long scoring droughts, allowing layup after layup, etc. It just seems strange that they play at such a high level against us every time. I was looking forward to getting a chance at a win against them and NCAA seed improvement; beating Indiana won't be nearly as meaningful, as Iowa will be expected to hold serve.

Still, it looks like we're a solid #6 with still a chance at better if we can win the whole thing.

Dang, I'm aching for some Hawkeye BB excitement in March. Been heartbreak after heartbreak...

I didn't realize seeds had already been given. :) Wonder why they didn't just forfeit and stay home?

I despise Illinoy. Even more than Duke, and that's sayin something.
Just look like a collection of thugs. They reflect the smug attitude of their douche nozzle coach.
