China likely isn't afraid to bloody either India or Russia to pick up territory for themselves. Eastern Russia China would happily take off Russian hands. I vote we not fight China on behalf of Russia in that scenario, but I'm not sure that shouldn't be a $20 square on Things Trump might do.

Guarantee Ukrainian security, add to NATO, which would make any conflict now an "us vs. them". The prior administration pushed Russia into an alignment with China that probably has existed since Mao, and with being friendly with Iran we now have a situation similar to 1914.

But the way it happens is that Putin eventually takes Ukraine, and moves on to Poland. He calls Europe's bluff on NATO and sees what happens. Does Western Europe have the will or the wealth or the wherewithal to fight? Have you seen the state of Europe?
