I'm not going to defend what he did, but in some ways it seems to me he's getting a little more criticism than he deserves. The headlines all blast "Jared Fogle/Child Porn". Unless there is more to the story than what I have heard, he wasn't exactly into kiddie porn. He had a thing for 16 year old girls. That's pretty creepy for a guy his age. But in some states, including his home state of Indiana, that's actually legal.
Where Jared veered into dangerous territory was secretly videotaping the encounters, which is very illegal. He also traveled to states where the age of consent was higher. For example, some of the encounters apparently took place in New York, where the age of consent is 17.
Again, I'm not defending him, but it seems maybe a little unfair that the headlines keep saying "child porn", which implies something far more sinister.
