I wonder how many days of non-tariffed iPhones they have on hand or on the way? What about the chances the exorbitant tariffs are still in place in a year and a half?

Just got a 16e for $300. I don’t like change but I was due for an upgrade and wanted to beat the tariff. They are encouraging people to do it.

Buy now on the fear of promised price increase in the future..... sounds like a marketing plan. :)

To answer the OP, I don't think we get there. I do think it jumps, but not sure that it will end up that high.

Never. It’s not a viable product at that price point. They’ll find another way to make it or the most valuable company on the planet will lose a lot of value.

They were literally flying in cargo planes full of iPhones in the days before the tariffs went into effect. They may well have inventory to last until the next product release.

My guess is that they’ll move to two supply chains. A new one in India to serve the United States and the existing one in China to serve the rest of the world.

interesting. so the tesla model (in the sense of using chinese facility for access to chinese market and different for usa)

it’s pretty amazing though if they have enough inventory in hand for years

Not for years. They’ll probably move up the next phone and hope to make it through to August or whenever they plan to release it.

Make Apple products unaffordable might be the easiest way to lose elections.

Not worried. Apple will find another country to make them in or figure out total production automation.

India already makes a lot and will make more.

International shell game.

If the goal is to bring jobs to the U.S., wouldn't hair furor just add tariffs whoever they move the manufacturing?

More like gayming laptop.
I can only make people eat shit so many hours a day on here. I need to make 12 year olds wish they were still in school and the jobless pot heads wish they still had jobs during those other hours.
