All these kids graduated HS and were in college BEFORE Drake Ayala even stepped foot in HS. Micic graduated HS when Ayala was in 6th grade.

Bad rule by NCAA to give these kids another year when they actually got to compete. Guys like Lugo and Mark Hall got robbed of a year. Its those guys who should have been granted another year, not guys like Shroeder or Duncan, or Fix

No. It was a short, weird season that was touch and go from the start. The rule allowed participation without having to worry about time missed due to covid, a season shutdown, allowed an athlete to opt out, etc. Heck, the entire Ivy League didn’t even participate. A very pro-athlete move and the right one.

If the consequence of getting to see another real season out of Spencer Lee & Co. is that a few older guys are on the mat, who really cares? Hell, 2 of the top 5 oldest guys above are Hawkeyes. Oh no…he’s 25 not 24! The horror!

This was one of the only times where I was left thinking "holy cow, the ncaa actually did something to benefit the student athletes."

It was absolutely horrible for guys like lugo, but as you said, it wasn't about making up for that year, it was about taking away the pressure of the next year so guys could compete without the worry of wasting a year of eligibility in case the season got canceled again.
