Northwestern taking it to Wisconsin today, Ohio State getting throttled last week, what does that mean in terms of conference strength?

Either the B1G Ten is tough with a lot of parity or is extremely mediocre.

Ya, B1G appears to be down. And anyone can a beat anyone on a given saturday.

tOSU is down, Mich lost to Notre Dame, no signature wins for conference and some bad losses - NorthWestern/Nebraska losing to Akron, and Wisconsin losing to BYU.

The conference needs realigned - bottom line.

It’s a joke that Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern, etc. play joke schedules in the West while the big boys knock each other out of playoff contention in the East. The top teams from the West are annually overrated and embarrassed on the big stage. Northwestern leading the division? Utterly embarrassing.

Yet even mediocre West teams seem to woodshed the biggest boy in the East. It wasn’t losses to their fellow division mates that felled OSU.

Everyone was so high on Purdue after beating tOSU last week, but I think tOSU has been overrated pretty much the entire season. There D has not been good at all and last week they were taken to the wood shed. MSU brought Purdue back to earth today. I think the league is probably as balanced as it really has been. We don't have that one truly bad ass team, cept for possible Michigan, but the final chapter has yet to be written. More balance, good for the league, bad for CFP.

Actually last year IOWA knocked the “big boy out east” out of playoff contention if you remember... and in 2017 it was Pitt who knocked your Penn state out of contention... the east is better in my opinion but don’t act like it’s unbeatable by the west teams..

Nubs didn’t lose to Akron tho. Also Michigan is much improved since that loss to the Irish.

Bad for Iowa that Purdue lost today.
Not sure why it would be anything but good. Before we lost I could see it being bad as it would hurt our strength of schedule for playoff consideration. Now, I think the focus is on locking up the West and Purdue losing helps. It's doubtful we get into CFP with 2 losses even if we win the Big 10 IMO.

At least we’re not the weak B12 conference.

The levels of CFB this year seem clear to me:

Alabama - Clemson - Notre Dame
...
...
Oklahoma - Michigan- LSU
...
...
Can argue about the rest here as it won’t matter.

The Pac 12 is pretty far below the B1G. I'd be shocked if anyone outside of Wash St. and Utah is ranked. Washington now has 3 losses, as will Oregon. Stanford will be out, nobody should move in.

How about the ACC? It's Clemson and the rest. Who else is even good in that conference? Indiana beat Virginia who is the number 1 team on that side of the conference. NC State was ranked 22 but lost giving up 51 to Syracuse. The ACC will have 1, MAYBE 2 teams ranked tomorrow.

Big 12... Texas lost to Maryland, lost again tonight. Oklahoma, by process of elimination, is a top 5 or 6 team. West Virgina hasn't sold me yet. Iowa St. is getting better and will recieve votes, as will Oklahoma St. Then you got Baylor, Kansas, Kansas St., TCU?!? All bad.

Like the Big XII, the Pac 12 and all the rest except the SEC. There is no great team. There are several teams capable of playing extremely well but not capable of doing it consistently.

I don’t think Clemson or Notre Dame are on the same level as Bama. I think Notre Dame playing Michigan would be a toss up now, Michigan is a different team.

As far as B1G goes, I hope Sagarin is right. We’re still top 9 today, with OSU, PSU, and Mich all top 10

Agreed. Even though miles apart in style, the Big XII and B1G Ten are very similar in terms of conference strength.

pac 12 is completely out of the picture.

big xii has oklahoma remaining, that's it.

B1G has scUM and tosu.

Strictly based on number of teams still in the running for CFP, the nod goes to the B1G out of this group.
