No surprise as I think he's wanted to go there for a while in the recruiting process, but Kevin Huerter just announced for Maryland. Especially no surprise as I think we were recruiting him as a PG. Well, I guess he and Connor will meet at least a couple times a year, as opponents.

Yikes, Maryland is scary. That Under Armour money isn't hurting them either. They are basically going to turn into the Oregon of the east coast.

I must admit when Maryland gets a big commit, it doesn't hit me right away that it affects Iowa a little more since theyre in conference. Maryland and Rutgers in the B1G still feels weird
Turgeon sure has moved from being a coach having difficulties to one having great success in a hurry.

Plenty of other good recruits in the mid-west and mid-atlantic to go after.

FYI on the Under Armour money thing, The last two big Maryland recruits have been NIke guys. Huerter is a Nike player all the way.

Some of us at Maryland wish UA just pushed players our way, but this really has been great recruiting by Turge, but also being in B1G with BTN and recent success is just as helpful to this process.

P.S. We are proud of Likely beating Kinnick's record, but we still know Kinnick's an all time great period.

You will have to admit Maryland probably played their worst game of the season against the hawks.

I think he is just referring to the money that flows into the program due to the UA connection. Not that players are pushed there by handlers (like at a few schools...) due to a connection or money. Like at Oregon, big money from a clothing brand can buy a lot of shiny things recruits like.

He's a really good player who I would have loved to see in Black and Gold. I think, in the end, we just didn't really have a spot for him although he may be quite a bit better than some others we do have. We'll have to wait and see.
