Huge commit Hudson Parliament

Believe me, for a kid that size who is young and growing into his frame, 285 bench is not weak in comparison to his peers.
I'm not knocking him, I agree that a young man with that frame 285 is impressive.

What I'm questioning is this part of the OP: Broke state record last weekend in power lifting.

I was in h.s. back in the mid-80s in E. Iowa, and there was a kid at my school who benched 450 ...he was a power lifter and competed. Pretty sure at the time he broke the record for his age. The local paper sent a guy to my school to do a story on him.

So guess I'm wondering how 285 broke the record?

other two lifts were exceptional?
Yeah, I could see that ...but the dude I went to school with had a ~600 squat and ~600 deadlift, possibly a little more on each.

I'd assume that 40 years later a persons bench would need to be at least in the ~400 range by now in order to break that record.

Could he be good enough to jump right in& start by, say, October of true freshman year? I just love the thought of possibly another Tristan Wirfs

It's a big ask, not even Bulaga or Gallery to my knowledge started at a true freshman, maybe Mike Jones? And then usually we put them in at guard vs. Tackle.
