Huge tournaments for Iowa Wrestling recruits

Nice write up todd. I was also reading iawrestle's recruit preview and they said Teasdale is going up to 126 after powerade. I guess Lee and Teasdale are in different classes so this is the last tournament where being at the same weight would be an issue of those two runnng into each other.

Jay: I appreciate the compliment. I am hoping you meant well, but putting another article on my thread on the same subject, well I find it to be rude. Especially with it being iawrestle, who I do not like in part for doing things exactly like this. At least I hope you meant well. I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Thank you.

The guy has a point. He simply asked you not tout a rival on a topic he started. He even asked super politely. He does a good job trying to provide us with great info. Why not respect his wishes?

cat fight seems unnecessary, LOL.

Just a respect thing. Home Depot doesn't want to see a Lowe's ad about the same product directly below their ad. It helps us as the consumer, but it is rude nonetheless.

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. This is a "Rivals" website. The topic of this thread is about our recruits and where they will be this weekend. Are you telling me I needed to post ANOTHER thread about the exact same topic? If todd was the owner of this message board I would get it, but this is a hawkeye community and if there is a topic of discussion. it is insane to post a whole other thread on the same topic just because links are coming from different sites. Why not keep it all in the same location for actual wrestling discussion?

yeah you are probably right they wouldn't like that, but your analogy is wrong. This website is like google and both iawrestle and todd use it to get information out to google's users. Google "buy a hammer" and see what results come up. I bet its amazon, lowes, and home depot. The best part is I get to pick which one to click on!

Calling the sites "rivals" made me chuckle. It's a blog.

The same goes for claiming ownership of a thread on a message board that one doesn't own. Not only does he want free "advertising" he wants it on his terms.

You have a great site, Todd. It exists on his own merits. A link to another site in a 3rd party message board thread does nothing to take away from your site. If anything, it helps keep your post near the top of the board and drives traffic not the other way around.

I am now up on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/IowaWrestlingFan/
and on Twiiter at https://twitter.com/iawrestlingfan

It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling Fan.

Go Hawks!
Todd---I agree with a sentence in your last paragraph. I too enjoy listening to Ironside do the analysis for Iowa wrestling. One caveat for this weekend, Ironside will not be on the radio this weekend. He will be replaced by Matt McDonough doing the analysis.

No biggie to me either way. I just simply see why he could get his feathers ruffled. He worked hard to put together a nice blog and was upset that the very next post sites another source.

It definitely isn't the end of the world, but he was polite enough about showing it upset him that I sympathized!

Things getting ornery up in here. Midlands has to start post-haste!

Wow..... on an open wrestling forum. Not much is considered out of line when talking about wrestling. I personally find it rude/conceited to call anyone out for contributing about Wresting.

He uses this board for promotion, like any smart person like Todd would, but he doesn't own the board so he doesn't set the rules. Ettiquitte on HR (like most message boards) says we don't have multiple threads going for the same subject. The guy who owns the place says that. His board. His rules.

Todd and IA Wrestle both exist on their own merits. They each have their own place. Posts on HR do nothing to subtract from either one.

Like I said, not a big deal to me. I just sympathized with him. He politely explained why it bothered him and I could understand why he felt slighted(right or wrong). Simply out of respect, I could see leaving his blog posts as a stand alone and wouldn't see anything wrong with making a separate IAWrestle topic. To me, that doesn't seem like a major breach of etiquette.

It must be a big deal to you, because you keep responding.

It's called a friendly conversation. Is that not what a message board is for? Am I not supposed to respond when someone quotes a post of mine and types a reply? I simply explained my reasoning and why I felt bad for the guy.
