Huge win for Trump as world's second biggest carmaker relocates manufacturing to US

I'm sure Joel has nice things to say about the Japanese car manufacturers, too....been to Oahu lately to see the Pearl Harbor Memorial??...maybe the Koreans are more his style...that only leaves Volvo as his alternative....but damn those Swedes are awful white...
Not referencing WW2 at all. More about their legal issues the past 10 years or so with fraud and deceptive practices. Their (VW’s) problems have been self-imposed, Hawky.

Exactly. This will take time for this to materialize. Emphasis on “might” unless they signed some contract with penalties in exchange for incentives (which I don’t think was the case here). Press releases like this are worth exactly what the company spent to release them - not much.

Meanwhile, the impact of Trump’s policy is making its way through the supply chain. I’m guessing Trump’s loudest supporters will be shocked by what things look like in a few months. I hope they are able to assign blame where it belongs, but teflon Don is probably already dreaming up how to blame Biden for this one.
A few months ago we heard the end is near in just a matter of months.....well???

I am NOT expecting to be SHOCKED come the end of June anymore than I am right now...let's revisit then and we can compare notes...

You haven’t heard the end is near from me. You have heard me say we are likely in a recession right now and if not now we will be by Q3. We are just now beginning to see the signs that I, and many others predicted.

Front page of the conservative WSJ has an article titled “How Tariffs are Crushing Small Businesses”. Here’s the link below if you care to get out of your MAGA echo chamber.

Happy to checkin at the end of June, although the full scope of the issues will likely be seen in Q3. Now if he is able to get a China deal maybe this will blow over with marginal lasting damage, but let’s see.
