but watching the Iowa women today confirmed how much I hate the officiating in the men’s game. For the women any significant contact was called a foul. Defenders in the post had their arms straight up or jumped straight up to defend otherwise there was a foul.

1). I hope nobody murders you
2). You’re right about the poor officiating in the mens game. Although, Gustafson usually takes a beating in the post and not much is called; the Big Ten tourney games against Indiana and Rutgers and first round game against Mercer were awful.

But to be fair officiating the men’s is SO much more difficult than the women’s. I’ll probably get “murdered” LOL for saying this it’s due to the women’s game being like slow motion compared to the men’s game. Just got done watching the DII men’s national championship and the style of play is closer to the women’s game than DI men’s game. No 6’8’’ 250 pounders banging their way to the basket.

The women's officiating has been beyond horrible in the games I have watched this year. Today's crew was by far better than most of the games I have seen.
In this particular game the tall NC State post hid a "shiv" in her jersey and stabbed Megan below her right shoulder near her under arm early in the game. The coaches/trainers had to bandage her up. It was this heinous act which motivated Megan to play even harder though and you can tell by the score what happened. Apparently the diligent referees were completely oblivious to this happening, and completely missed the whole thing.

I think there are many issues with consistency in calls that may be very biased at times, but there is way to much subjective variability in what is a call, a travel, etc.

The speed of the game may cause some of this, there just aren’t enough bodies to have the right views or angle of all the action. The speed of the game is crazy and some of the issues are definitely due to an inability to see what’s happening.

It may only be because my daughter loves to play basketball, but I have found myself enjoying women's basketball more than the men's basketball. It also may be because it better resembles 1A high school basketball 30 years ago.

NWMS in Maryville Mo won that, I'm 45 miles away from there. A lot of people from around here go there. 38-0 not bad and their football team is a perennial power

Incredible season. The coach is from Iowa and a good friend of mine told me he is the son of his former neighbor.

You will for sure. It's a violent world.

Some good points in this thread. That having been said, hopefully no one gets homicided.
Yeah, no reason for violence and hostility in the real world over something written on a message board. Can't understand folks who get so worked up over exchanges on the board that it carries over to real life. I'm not that way.
