Here are the top 15 teams (currently) and their record against current or previous (at the time they played) top 25 teams this year.. This does not count if you beat a team that is currently unranked but was ranked earlier in the season.. For example if you beat USC now (used to be ranked) it doesn't count in this record unless they are currently top 25.. If that confuses you, it doesn't benefit any particular team on this list..

1. Ohio State 0-0
2. Baylor 0-0
3. Utah 2-0
4. TCU 0-0
5. LSU 3-0
6. Clemson 1-0
7. Michigan State 2-0
8. Alabama 3-1
9. Florida State 0-0
10. Stanford 2-1
11. Notre Dame 1-1
12. Iowa 3-0
13. Florida 1-1
14. Oklahoma State 0-0
15. Michigan 2-2

Did you mean Top 25? You said Top 15. Interesting work. Certainly should add some credibility with the talking head experts. Nice job sir!!

Consistent with observations/calcs by myself & others who have posted regarding Iowa's SoS this year.

We are better than many people think.

Sorry what I meant was I only pulled the data for Top 15 teams.. Not the records against top 15 teams

According to most, all the ranked teams that Iowa beat had no business being ranked. They were obviously crappy teams, iowa beat them.

Right, right, right.. and then when they talk about Stanford's loss at NW its because.. well.. you know.. NW is really tough!

I was just about to post something like this once I saw that Pitt has cracked the Top 25. I think Iowa should be ranked ahead of Stanford for sure, due to the beat down of the team that beat them down.

Wait so you count wins that were ranked at the time you played them, but are currently unranked. While not counting teams that are currently unranked?

Can't explain that

JNW is no longer ranked because we beat them and they dropped out. Same with Wisconsin. Pitt losing to Iowa took them several weeks to climb in to top 25.

Ok but why do those count, But someone who beat USC while ranked doesn't?

No, if they beat USC while USC was ranked it counts. I didnt count games where a team was ranked earlier in the season but isn't anymore. So if someone beat Oregon this past Saturday they don't get credit for a ranked win. If they beat them WHEN they were ranked, they are on the list.

Got it now. OP wasn't clear.

Ask an Iowa State fan... if Iowa beat someone it is because that team is awful. NW is terrible. Their wins over Stanford and at Duke (who is 5-1) do not count because one was a fluke win and Duke does not play BIG 12 teams. The Pitt win wasn't impressive because it took a last second field goal and Pitt hasn't beaten a BIG 12 team either. Wisconsin ... meh. ISU could win in Madison. No problem.

Iowa and 'Bama are the only two schools with 2 such wins on the road (plus 'Bama has a neutral site win). But, since 'Bama has a home loss, that makes us clearly better;)
