I hate Gonzaga

Have to wonder what would have happened if the Pac 12 was seeded correctly.

I need to brush up on my hoops history 😬 Was thinking that when Kentucky was going on their run in 2015 that people were talking about them being the first undefeated team, not the first undefeated team since ‘76. Oops

Maybe it was said that Kentucky 2015 had a chance to be the first undefeated team since the field expanded to 64 in 1985?

Don’t really hate the Zags or anybody on the team. I hate the fact that they can run the table while playing in an incredibly weak conference. I want to see them lose solely so they don’t become the first undefeated team ever... almost wish that Kentucky team with Towns, Booker, Ulis, and the Harrison twins would’ve ran the table back in 2015
Wut

Ok, a couple thoughts in case anyone cares (🤣)

Not a fan, but mad respect for Few and Gonzaga. They are an elite team and play a style of basketball that is fun to watch (unlike most of NCAAMBB).

Flexing, showing off, talking trash, hanging on the rim and pretty much showing that you love the game and are having fun should be encouraged. Love watching guys do that as long as it's not causing fights, and even then, it's still a little fun.

Tomorrow's game should have a pace and style that should be the standard for college ball. Tough defense, up and down the court, fast paced, high scoring. That should be what everyone wants with basketball.

Wooden was a fraud....ok...

He was a very good coach and he had a great philosophical way, I've read some of his books on leadership.
It's also widely known that UCLA cheated like a mo-fo when he was HC. Wooden looked the other way and let those under him do whatever it took to recruit the players he wanted...all while taking the high road publicly as if he knew nothing about it.

UCLA obviously could have won last night. Makes me wonder how many games the Zags would have lost playing in the Pac 12, Big 12 or Big 10. May still have won those leagues, but I can't imagine them going unbeaten.

I can never root for UCLA in basketball. Many of their National Championships are from the 32 team tournament era. Teams were not seeded, pretty much geography was used. UCLA basically had a free pass to the final four during the Wooden years because they had little competition within their conference and not much in the western region. As someone hinted there was some illegal activity in their recruiting. Since the tournament was expanded beyond 32 teams their success dropped off.

Gonzaga is a great team, no doubt. But the fact that Few averages 30 wins a year and has never won a championship speaks worlds about the soft schedule they play.

Of the Final Four, the only team I saw that played lock down defense was Baylor. That ought to be a great championship game.

I have no hate for Gonzaga. They play as a unit, they play hard both offensively and defensively. They're coached well, and even when they were down in the score at times, they kept working, kept defending, and running their offense. The shot at the end by Suggs was the deciding shot. It reminded me of the shot by Weezy at Rutgers. I'll enjoy watching the championship game and may the best team win.

I have no idea how someone can hate Gonzaga, other than they just hate anyone who's excellent.
Well, that Timme dude is kind of a hot dog with all his celebrations, but other than that they are a likeable enough bunch.

And again, how about Garza? Because they act almost identically after made shots. I'm good with how both are.

Do we know that Gonzaga doesn't cheat? I am NOT suggesting that they do but it is amazing how they can continue to have a roster that has 7 different countries represented with all players yearning to be in Spokane playing in the West Coast Conf.

What I do think they do is sell the idea of developing players for the NBA and international professional leagues. They teach GREAT basketball, so I am not taking anything away from them. But let's be honest, in today's world of CBB, if you aren't finding loopholes, you aren't winning.

I think your exact quote was “That Timme dude is kind of a hot dog with all his celebrations”. If that includes flexing his, kinda, muscles, screaming and other self promoting actions then yeah Garza does the same thing.
That wasn't me who quoted that so that shows me right there you don't pay attention to what you read. So I'm assuming you watch basketball games the same way.

Yep, you got me on missing the quote. But I stand by the rest of the statement. Are you saying Garza does not do the things I mentioned?

What Luka does is pretty tame to what I saw last night.

So some similarities just not to the extreme is what you are saying? Fair enough. The original point was that it’s easy to find fault in people you might not care for but some tend to overlook the same behavior in people / teams you like.

I swear some of you guys would rather bring back the god damn peach basket. Timme is a beast. As is Luka. They both have a lot of fun on the court. Which I love. I do not expect a cakewalk for the Zags. Baylor is so quick at the guard position. Also not sure why some of you are douchey about the Zags. Everyone besides Iowa that’s winning must be cheating. Grow up.

While some of their gestures are the same, Garza's seem be to self-motivate, but Timme's are clearly playing to the crowd. Big difference.

Maybe. Maybe playing to the crowd motivates Timmie.

I really have no issue with either player.

Love the Zags ! Suggs is an amazing talent. Timme is fun to watch. Hope they can beat Baylor on Monday !

Timmy has got one of the softest bodies I've seen. He looks like Larry Bird. But he can flat out play!
