I "Heart" Wrestling Walk update

I finished this morning around 10:30. I had to alter my route because parking at the Evansdale trail head looked a little risky. The total route was shorter than I estimated - 63 miles in 6 days. This has been a personal goal for almost three years, but an injury and a bad ticker got in the way. Yesterday was the first anniversary of my valve replacement surgery and during rehab one of the first goals I set for myself was to finally complete this walk.

Thank you to my Hawkeye Report friends who supported me both in spirit and financially. We're already putting your generosity to work for the future of wrestling. We've sent shoes and head gear to a flood-ravaged high school team in Louisiana and will be sending shoes to a kids' club in Chicago. I'm setting aside funds for tickets to the Penn State, Iowa State and Ohio State duals and for more camp scholarships. We will also continue to help Female Elite Wrestling grow girls' wrestling.

As the word spreads more requests for help come in. I got one for shoes and gear from Augusta, GA yesterday. If you feel the urge to help, you can do so here.

Thanks, again.

GG - I found these Tom Ryan Model Buckeye wrestling shoes online. Perhaps you could throw these at some impressionable high schoolers just to let them get a taste tOSU.
