I hope Joe T

When Joe T is in control, there aren’t many players I would take over him in the Big 10. He is that good when he is letting the game come to him.

Anyone else notice a few times he's had a clear lane to the hoop, but does that jump stop, spin, fallaway jumper?

Love the kid and think he can he fabulous.
I’m not a fan of the stop jump and spin falling jumper. But I am a big Joe T fan, he’s got quickness and hustle you rarely find. Just a disruptive force of nature. And him and PMac really seem to have some great chemistry playing togethe.

Works on that floater he put up yesterday . Seems he can get that shot off regularly since he can often beat his man to the lane
Well, after dribbling around for 15 seconds, you are eventually going to beat your man somewhere. Ball movement dies with him.
Great passer when he chooses to be, just needs to happen quicker.

He definitely brings a lot to the table, but he needs to work on his FT shooting and his deep shots. If he can hit 75% at the charity stripe and at least 37-38% from 3, he'd be pretty close to a complete PG.

His defense and effort is pretty constant. When he is on the court the chances of getting a stop on defense go up because he puts pressure on the ball and makes the guy he is guarding uncomfortable.
His improvement in cutting down erratic play with the ball in his hands has been a big factor in helping overcome injuries to other players.

He's much better in sets when he can control the ball and wait for the screens and cutters to develop, in the regular motion offense where it is read/react he struggles.... but has shown signs of late.

Love his help side defensive abilities.... that OSU game where he was on the right side wing guarding at the 3 point line and then helped on the lob pass into Liddell on the left low block was amazing... He's a disruptive force on the court.

Next year he will be a MAJOR player in the league OR spend 75% of every game on the bench with fouls. lol. He's alot of fun to watch though!

That floater was a staple of Xavier Simpson(senior year) and that’s the guy he reminds me of what he can be the most

Xavier Simpson is a great example of what we want JoeT to become. He has similar tools, if he can play with control. Like Simpson, he needs to work on his shooting and develop some shots he can regularly make go to the basket.

Everyone has their own opinion and Fran's is only one that matters. I think JoeT brings some manufactured offense because he can create off the dribble in 1/2 court. In a game without Weezy, Fredrick not taking many shots, and JBO shooting off in 1st half and pedestrian 3/9 from 3, then I think JoeT brings something to the table that warrants more than 12 minutes. I think he also drew a couple of the fouls on Trice.

But do NOT shoot FTs like Simpson! He made it tough on Beilein to leave him in late in tight games.

He's demonstrated more than once that he's got solid skills when it comes to harassing the opposing bigs in the post. Even dug the ball out. Can be as, if not more, effective than a simple double team.

I would like to see a couple games where Joe T. gets Connor's minutes. Connor had 1 point in 31 minutes. Joe T. had 6 points in 12 minutes and they came at a time when the offense resembled a flat tire. Simple math would put Joe T. around 15-18 points in 31 minutes which is about 6 games for Connor. Yes Joe T. had a turnover so the math works against him in this department. Glue guy or not, it's almost impossible to play 31 minutes and score 1 point as a guard.

Joe T. is a bit of a roller coaster ride, but one thing you can always count on is that he will be aggressive on both ends. If he continues to play under control like he has the past few games I can see him bailing Iowa out of one of the dreaded 5:00 fg droughts.

Those are killers for a team that counts on its O as heavily as Iowa does. As you point out, that's exactly the time that they need a creator with the ball who can drive and dish.

Yep, everyone has his own opinion. Mine would be let the coaches and team do just like the have. A top 6 team in the nation and everyone wants to change things up. Me, leave it alone for the rest of the season!!! The only thing better would be to replace Joe T with Caitin Clark, who is a damn better scorer :p
