I know Pizza Ranch is bigly popular here on HORT. Should I turn around and grab a pizza?

It has been 20 years, but I would stop and take a few days off my life at that buffet. The chicken used to be really solid.

no. the pizza is trash. their fried chicken is really good tho. Go there once a year to eat chicken. usually when I'm hungry over.

When I worked there, people would be like "I like the chicken but not the pizza. They should call it Chicken Ranch." Then I would say "That name is already taken."
As mentioned above, the pizza is mostly miss on the hit or miss scale anymore, but the mashed potatoes and chicken are top notch. Just have your mortgage with you so you can finance the cost of the buffet.
They will make whatever pizza you want and put it on the buffet. And double bonus if you've been a little backed up recently. Plus the chicken is good.
Last summer I was back in Burlington for a small family reunion, and they had it at a Pizza Ranch. I'd never seen one before, and it was a pretty sad experience. My family - cheapest bunch of folks you've ever seen - ordered a few pizzas and pitchers of water. Too cheap to pay even for soft drinks. After a few minutes I quietly asked my sister if a waiter was ever coming so I could order something to drink, and she informed me you go to the front to order drinks, and she did say they had beer.
I got up and said I was going to go order a beer, and my one cousins who married into the family quickly stood up and said "I'll go with you!"
I mean, at least they DID have beer...

Absolutely not. You should turn around and grab some chicken thighs, top it off with some Cactus Bread and dollop of ice cream.

I can drive you right to the spot in LaGrange where the chicken ranch used to be. It was for sale a few yrs ago, somebody should have bought it and put a big honky tonk bar there, just for kicks.

I will echo the comments about the chicken. I have only eaten there a few times. Most of the buffet was meh, but the chicken was excellent.
Turn around and get chicken.
I have my system totally down.
1. First round, chicken, two wings, one breast.
2. Second round, salad with all kinds of stuff on it, Dorothy Lynch dressing.
3. Third round, assorted sides, stuffing, pizza, fries and more chicken.

Chicken Ranch is going strong right down the road from me…I am told the food is better at next door at Sheri’s Ranch
I do not recall eating the chicken there, there's one in ottumwa and like emporia or topeka kansas I been to, reminds me of cici's pizza buffet

I have posted this before and will again for you renobs that don't read. Broasted chicken is the BEST chicken on the planet. Cooks faster, cooks juicier and better all around. Stupid people from Missouri prefer pan fried. Broasted chicken is very hard to fook up. After preparing thousands of pieces of broasted chicken and eating hundreds, I know the dealio.

Pizza Ranch is where fat people go to accelerate their deaths. Also, never a franchise owner that was not a POS.
Cardioversion procedure. I am out via anesthesia and am shocked to restore normal rhythm. I have had it 6-7 times the past 14 years.
It was in Peoria IL. I am now in Chicago. I will be back there next month so I will give it a try. Comments here were more favorable than I expected.
