I guess if she was going to have to listen to their crap all match, she might as well throw it back at them. I surprisingly had never heard of her until several months ago after she confronted a fan during a match. She has a LOT of haters.
What I wouldn't give for Marble, Woodbury, and McCabe right now.
Her antics rub competitors and fans the wrong way. Just since last night I have seen clips of her telling fans to shut up, confronting them when they yell at her, having a teenage opponent meet her at the net to tell her to slow down because she wasn't giving her enough time between points.
I'm not sure that looks good to be honest. Male athletes get yelled at and trash talked by crowd members all of the time and they mostly just ignore it. Seems like she is just letting people know that the jeers affect her.
Also asking the opponent to slow down. That would make me want to speed up because it sounds like she was tiring her out.
Although I'm totally behind putting your had to your ear when you win.
I'd never seen or heard of her before today. Seems like a bitch. Not really a fan of the cut of her jib after all.
Someone can correct me because I don't follow women's tennis nearly as much as I did 20-30 years ago, but if I understand correctly she was planning on retiring but then started playing really well, winning a couple tournaments and got herself into the top 15. Playing the best tennis of her career at 30.
