First... These are the best candidates we can find? What a bunch of @$$ clowns.

Second... Among those @$$ clowns, I wont even get a chance to vote for one I like because other @$$ clowns in Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampshire will have already eliminated the @$$ clowns that were somewhat electable. (And thank you, Iowa, for promoting douchebag Trump along on his merry way. Consider yourself significantly to blame if he ends up as our next president.)

Finally... What in the @#^%$ happened to the Republican Party? I understand down years, but the last decade or two has been a complete joke! There is no such thing as a conservative in American politics anymore.

They made their tent too big and were forced away from any moderate positions. They keep the fundamentalists happy by acting like they are acting on abortion and against homosexuals. They keep other people distracted with the looming gun grab that is yet to pass or will ever pass. They are fed by massive money on the back end and work to subvert regulations for their masters. Eventually the rest start to feel the siphoning and lash out in odd ways in this case looking to Trumps and Cruzs.

I have good news for you though Hillary is a moderate neoliberal. I would say that is pretty firmly conservative.

Bernie Sanders is a New Deal type Democrat.

You could work on a campaign or even better yet run for office and try and influence events in a positive way. But yeah, posting this on a board read by almost nobody seems like the more productive and rational thing to do.

. . . not caring, the best way to build a better future going on 4 million years now

First... The most brilliant politician in the world could be front and center, and the population would select David Hasselhof coming off a booze and burger binge. ("He's so different. He's not like those other guys wearing ties and shaving.")

Second... You couldn't be more wrong. Anyone that is someone reads HROT.

What's your definition of Conservative?

Look at the post directly beneath yours and say that again with a straight face . . . or a gay face . . . any face will do actually.

Glad this is just a rant. I thought you may have had an incurable disease and were not going to make it to the election.

Yes... Cruz was a clear winner (by 3%) in Iowa and gets ONE MORE delegate than Trump. Way to turn the tide of the election.

The GOP needs to put Jeb in the VP slot or find somebody named Nixon. Haven't won a presidential election since 1928 without one or the other.

Jesus Christ. I had to look this one up, but you're right. Last time the GOP won without a Bush or Nixon on the ticket was with Herbert Hoover.

I would say Hillary is a populist to win, corrupt behind closed doors, and not definable.

My opinion is that this tracks back to when a certain faction in the party deposed Michael Steel and installed this bozo Reince Priebus as head of the party.

He took over in 2011 and declared that he was going to "reduce the debt, rebuild the organization's finances and improve relationships with major donors and party leaders, as well as aid Republican efforts in the 2012 presidential elections."

I guess he did in fact clean up the finances, but what did not do was to "Build the brand." He needed to make sure that there was some overall effort to enhance the image and to counter all of the lies that were continually put forth about Republicans and in particular President Bush ... and he had years and years to do this. Instead, the Democrats were able to frame President Obama's second campaign as being against President Bush and all of the mean old Republicans. (plus some greedy Republicans, and some racist Republicans) they promoted Governor Romney as simply a proxy candidate believing in old, stale, non-workable, and generally bad ideas.

It was up to the head of the party to make sure that anyone running for office as a Republican had standing, and that candidates could gain from simply being a Republican.

Priebus is the guy who was supposed to maintain order, image, message, and the glamor relating to the party.

He did not even try based on what I have seen and now we have a frigging mess with a whole bunch of lightweight opportunists running around with their own inchoate messages and descriptions of the failures of the Obama administration. I really do not get the sense that any of these characters has a coherent sense of what has built up against the party recently.

If all of these guys had been movie cowboys, they would be no closer to the camera than the 4th or 5th cowboy back. Their skillset as political cowboys is no better.
