Maybe the next Iowa coach is currently the coach at UCLA or Mississippi State, and they are merely waiting for the end of the CWS to announce they are leaving their respective programs and becoming the next coach at Iowa???

Then you simply don't understand the hiring process that must be followed at the University of Iowa. This was the same process used by Bob Bowlsby, Bump Elliott, Christine Grant, Evy, Etc. Proper advertising and notice is given indicating that a job opening is available for application, a search committee is formed, applications are received and reviewed, back ground information is gathered and the candidate pool is narrowed to those individuals asked to interview, interviews are conducted, and then an offer is made. If all candidates that were interviewed either do not qualify for the job, accept the position if offered, or remove themselves from consideration, then the process is started all over(see volleyball coaching search from a few years ago). Like it or not, it is what it is.
