I still walked away from that disaster with more positives than negatives

Carton: he really showed that he's a legit top 20 guy. I initially wrote this weight off for Nationals but now I think he has an upside of the round of 12.

Kemerer: I thought he would be somewhere around 4-6 before the season. After the Berger match and this weekend, I think he's a contender to wrestle Nolf on Saturday night.

Brooks: We finally saw a complete match without the mental lapses and he kept on the offense. He should have had the fall but the refs were slow into position.

On the flip-side:

Meyer is Meyer: He waits until the 3rd to show any urgency. He'll probably do the same in March and do just enough to get onto the podium again.

Clark should be fine. It was a poorly officiated match but he needs to start stronger. As long as gets on the opposite side of the bracket as NaTo, I like his chances to wrestle in the finals.

Sorensen: I was disappointed in him but I still think he's in the finals in March. My only worry is that Mayes steals the #3 seed from him and he's forced to face Zain in the semis. For that to happen, I think either BS would have to lose another one outside of Zain or Mayes would need to come back and beat Collica later this month, which is a possibility.

Stoll: I think he'll be fine. He doesn't look completely recovered but I think he wins that match most of the time. I think he's a lock to be somewhere 6-8 on the podium this year if he's healthy.

I would agree for the most part.

Gilman - like where he is at
Clark - showed a lot of offense after the slow first period. He should learn from this and will get him the next time. Like where he is at and feel that his shoulder should not significantly limit him unless it gets reinjured
Carton - like where he is headed. Just keep improving and believing.
Sorensen - hopefully this is a wake up call that if you don't go out and win it, you are going to lose some. He has won almost all of these type matches and feels too comfortable in these situations. Go out and get it, Brandon.
Kem - like where he is at.
Gunther - hopefully he is back soon. Like him, but just not enough talent to do much in March
Meyer - is Meyer. Don't expect much and you won't be as disappointed. Hopefully he can make another run in March.
Sammy - like where he is at. Most complete match he has had in a while.
Cash - see Gunther.
Stoll - See Sorensen. Has to make leg attacks from the ties to win. Has to defend opponent's leg attacks and score off them. Can't rely on the ref to call the stalls. Hopefully he is not hurt and hopefully he learns from this.

Great meet to learn from. Make the corrections and go out and win out.

The litmus test for Brooks at B1G & Nationals will be how he wrestles if he ends up on the backside of the bracket. This should go without saying but he cannot throw in the towel.

I'm happy with Wilcke at this time. He's giving up weight but he's hanging in there. From a strategic standpoint they probably could have had him go neutral to start the 3rd and likely lose 1-0 but it was probably good experience for him to go underneath. He won't do much this year but hopefully the experience will put him in position to be top 20 next year.
