He was a strong opponent of NAFTA at the time. The Dem president and Republicans in Congress rammed that one through. Now another Dem president and Republicans in Congress look ready to double down.

Mr Perot can't believe these American business people now have to go overseas to find people willing to work. He can't believe America has become a bunch of fat asses with their hand out, and politicians are now able to buy votes from these sloths.
Social Injustice is able people stealing the limited entitlement money from those who truely need it.
The work ethic of Mr Perot's generation puts ours to shame. His idea only works, if America is willing to work.

What's your solution? And on the TPP, what's your position?

Perot was right, but so is brushcreekhawk. It has become way to easy to get free money in this country. Laziness has become a virue in our culture.
As far as free trade goes, it is only free for the few fascist industries that run the US. They use lobbyists to push legislation to get them cheap labor, no taxes, and no environmental restrictions.
As far as TPP goes. I'm all for tariffs.

Perot was a little too weird. But right on some important issues. He got the broad MSM attack (like Howard Dean did) - emphasizing his weirdness after he became viable enough that the establishment got scared.

One solution would be to export unskilled jobs, and import high tech jobs. Keep technology & knowledge based jobs in America, rather than exporting college educated foreigners back out of America to Singapore. Need the higher paying jobs to pay into the tax base, before we run this train off its tracks.

A lot of funny money is likely trading hands in Washington on this issue. Big money grab for congress. When this happens, it empowers politicians at the expense of citizens. If this statement is correct, then I don't support.

Wasn't trolling, just cranky with sinus cold.

Lay off the Sudafed.

Government can't import jobs, and the only thing that would keep a corporation from exporting more jobs is if our wages were .40 an hour. People need to understand that the government can't trump basic math. Government is nearly powerless to impact the economy any more. The levers they have such as lowering interest rates, have been pulled. We the people who demand cheap crap and thus buy foreign made goods and don't support our own local businesses have made this happen. Everyone, people, politicians, unions and corporations have played their role in the demise of the US economy in favor of a global economy in which we are not able (or interested) in competing with at a wage level.

Looking back, who would you vote for today in the 1992 election, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, or Ross Perot?

I actually voted for RP knowing he had zip chance.
As far as TPP it might be one of the better deals BHO has done but still pretty crappy compared to what could have been worked out with anyone with a set...

Foreign students get college education in U.S.
Leave because can't get work visa.
Corporations open offices in Singapore and employ these students.
........ Do I really need to explain any further?
Yes, jobs can be imported! High paying jobs. And they will buy stuff from you, so you can keep your job.
