....and could only go BACK in time, what era or time would you go back to? You'd be a neutral observer, basically an invisible person where you couldn't influence events and wouldn't be in danger or wouldn't suffer during your travel.

I'd go back to the early 1500's and observe the Azteca culture in Mexico and consequent Spanish conquest.

Tough one but my answer(s) would be:

1) The era of Jesus Christ.....might as well figure out what this fuss is about...whether a believer or not, would come back to the present with a lot more answers than you had before I would imagine.

2) Peak Egyptian empire would have been pretty cool.

3) Maybe go back to when the Library at Alexandria was at its height....a guy could probably get a lot of answers about things from that experience too.

I would probably doing that for the rest of my life.

There is so much I would like to go back and see. Napoleonic France would be probably be the first stop.

Would have never guessed this.

On the beaches?

Do you want PTSD or something?

Watching the invasion in the sky above the ocean would be pretty remarkable.

But the actually fighting itself not so much.

And this is coming from a huge WWII buff.

Thread says can’t get hurt by being there.

I would like to see the bravery. I’d like to compare what actually happened to the books. It’s a pivotal moment in world history.

I've always dreamed of watching the Hindenburg go down

If I'm guaranteed no harm......I'm traveling with T.R. on one of his trips.

That or watching Rick James slap the shit out of Charlie Murphy.

The last days of Christ. Raising hell at the temple, the arrest and judgment, and his long walk up the hill.
Watching Lee learn about Jackson being shot.
Watching Lee discuss the 3rd day's charge with Longstreet.
Watching the windows at the Texas School Book Depository on Nov 22, 1963.
At any of Lincoln's day with his cabinet.

I would love to have been a bug on the wall at Lincoln's cabinet meetings. Dude knew what he was doing.

I'd like some time during the golden age of piracy in the Caribbean, call it 1680-1720 or so, right after that I wouldn't mind being around for some of the great exploration periods into both the poles, and Polynesia, James Cook era.
