It's pretty obvious they expect Sparty to "exact some revenge" come Thursday.

Hope our guys are listening to that disrespectful tone and use it as motivation.

Not expecting a win...but I do expect us to be ready and play from wire to wire and keep it close.

If they do that I'll be content and it will prove we're legit. A win would be icing on the cake.

A blowout will give me doubts; and most likely give our guys doubts as they continue a tough 5-game stretch.

Thoughts?

I expect sparty to win.
I don't expect the Hawks to fold like a cheap card table, as they have done on previous occasions.

Respect!!!! We don't get no respect!!

I hope it's a competitive game and maybe just maybe a couple things happen this week - 1) I win the lotto, attend the game, 2) Hawks win and we party like its 1999 afterwards!

What kind of doubts?

The Hawkeyes got their hind ends handed to them in Madison early in the season last year, fought like mad during a tough schedule just to be 6-6, and ended the season 12-6.

Started 4-1 last year. We're 3-0 and will probably be 3-1.

I've no doubt we will do all we can to win this game. But I'm not pinning the hopes or despair of the season on it. I've been watching CBS (Indiana blowing out Ohio State) little mention of Michigan State. Did you mean the BTN while Mich St. was beating Penn St?

PSU plays hard, but wow...not much talent evident in that bunch. Couldn't hit the water if they fell out of a boat in the middle of Lake Erie. Glad Valentine played a lot. No excuses Thursday. After this long layoff and the obvious belief around the country that MSU will blow Iowa away again in East Lansing, the Hawkeyes had better be ready with that same intensity they showed in the second half in West Lafayette.

Their students are probably still on break, so that could help some.
(Most Universities take these ENORMOUS breaks over Christmas, nowadays)
I think most U's are back in school next week...could see the kiddies coming back early to catch the game and party hard before classes start.

Ah, ok. Kind of glad, actually. We need to beat these teams at full strength.

Oh really? Is that why IOWA, Minnesota, Wisconsin all start after MLK, Jr day?

Biggest concerns are it's a road game in a tough environment, Valentine's return, and the nine day layoff. Should be a terrific game.

It is a pretty long lay off for Iowa...but it is a nice window to heal up a bit...after a lot of wear and tear.

Long grind...
