It may have even been longer. I just happened to notice Iowa was in the bonus at that point and Illinois had six fouls.

Iowa with 7 fouls in that stretch
Refs were not great but we just stopped getting the ball to Garza. Didn’t even try the last 7-10 minutes. Joe W great from 3 but he’s terrible in traffic. Who else is going to draw a foul?
more like wide open 3's...like no one within 6 feet of the IL shooter open....So, as usual, the refs sucked. I take it Iowa probably also gave up a lot of easy layups tonight?
Not while I was watching. So, as usual, the refs sucked. I take it Iowa probably also gave up a lot of easy layups tonight?
The refs suck, yes.So, as usual, the refs sucked. I take it Iowa probably also gave up a lot of easy layups tonight?
The refs suck, yes.
What sucks even worse? Nobody wants to get into the profession so the demand for refs will always be there but the supply will be mediocre, at best
As much money as the NCAA makes, they could easily pay these guys full-time.
Refs sucking will not be remedied anytime soon.
shoot, i see/hear TV & radio ads all the time, encouraging people to think about being a high school referee.
Ref shortages are at all levels, unfortunately
And Iowa went 11 minutes and 30 seconds without committing a foul in the 1st half.Wow.... 10 minutes with NO fouls. That's great defense.![]()
I wonder when the last time Iowa only shot 6 FTs was.
Officiating at all levels should do nothing but deteriorate each year going forward.Well, in fairness, I wouldn't want to be a ref either. Parents act ridiculous at frickin pee-wee games.

Until parents, coaches, & players start to behave themselves & treat officials with respect it will forever be a downward spiral.
