I'm torn

I'm watching the Wisconsin-Michigan St game. I'm torn between wanting Wisconsin winning so that we have a shot at playing them if we win tomorrow and they keep winning or hoping Michigan St takes them out since they are led by a punk coach and a punk player.
The latter, not the former. ;)

I was talking about this with my girlfriend earlier. Wisconsin and Illinois are two teams I would never root for to win, but I was torn because I wanted a rematch with Illinois. Beating Indiana just won't feel the same.

Rather play msu because they’re inconsistent and you do that against us for 4 minutes and you prob just gave up 15-20 points. But they’d have to beat psu or Purdue still, so I doubt they can string that many together in a row. Cmon psu and msu.

No I don’t care about getting more quad 1 wins. I’d rather we were a 6 to avoid the 1 as long as possible, but a 4-5 seed would be good too and maybe this year, we take down a #1 seed.

So if Iowa somehow wins the BTT, what’s the highest seed we can get to? Is a 3 attainable if we beat purdue or wisc in the championship…?

Doubtful. Tournament wins usually only help bubble teams. High seeded teams don't seem to be harmed or helped much by conference tournament wins or losses.

Bull crap. Beating either of them ends up the same. IOWA in the BTTC game

Same

It was the lesser of 2 evils as far as coaches go with MSU winning. I'm no Izzo fan either, he's slightly better than Gard.

I think an NCAA #3 is possible, although less likely now that we can’t get a W against Illinois. We would have to beat both Indiana and Purdue convincingly, and hope the Committee is impressed enough with our late run to give us Wisconsin’s #3, after they ended the season losing to Nebraska and a team we destroyed recently.

Screw Wisky and the horse they rode in on. Got what they deserved! Bunch of punks on that team starting with douche nozzle Davison .

I would think 5 is the highest they could get to unless they beat Purdue in the championship game. Many would think they still haven't beaten a top level team since they don't have the chance to beat Illinois, Wisconsin and possibly Purdue.

There isn't much difference, to me, between 2/3 or 4/5. You can always get some bad matchup in any game.

Hell, a 6 might be in play if they lose to Indiana or get blown out by Purdue.

Did we already beat Indiana? Asking for a friend….
Please show quote anywhere in this thread that assumes we will beat Indiana. Also, Link to message board rules stating that hypotheticals aren’t allowed to be discussed. If you don’t have either of those, maybe ask your friend.

Problem with that is, our projected 5/6 as of now isn’t a high seed imo. If we win the BTT, i dont think we get less than a 4. I think the committee will put a pretty big emphasis on how we’ve been playing lately, and the NET rankings have been in love with us all season.

Kinda sensitive there Francis. Didn’t realize my post was so horrible…..
I’ll try to tread lighter in the future for anyone that’s so delicate.

By the way - I wasn’t even replying to anything YOU posted.

I'm not an expert on this stuff but it would seem to me that a 4 seed is not out of the question. I just don't see Iowa being any higher than that. They certainly are playing better than that, but they lost too many games in January so this is where they are.

I think our seed will be determined after today. Historically the committee hasn't put too much weight into who wins the championship game since it's right before the selection show.
