They get northwestern at home again today. Have these guys played a road game yet this year? Geez what a cupcake schedule.

Good question luvmyhawks. In the sense the our football team had a favorable schedule, or that our basketball team should enjoy one next season? No, nothing to complain about.

Unless the point is giving up a round robin schedule to grow the Big Ten bigger and richer ends up diluting the product. Then yes, I think everyone has a reason to complain including Indiana who if they win the Big Ten will never hear the end of it.

Good point.

They've played 3 home and 3 away so far in conference. I don't think you ever play more than 2 in a row home or away unless there are unusual circumstances like weather postponements.

It is what it is with unbalanced schedules. Not their fault and sometimes you luck out, sometimes you do not.

Indiana plays what looks like the most of the top half 1 time except Iowa. On the flip side we play all of the top half twice except Maryland but that one time is on the road.

And they are rolling....but they have played 7 of the bottom 8 teams.

I posted this in the lounge about winning the Big title but it is what it is....their risks are very low with scheduling compared to other teams to win a title. Watching this NW game now and IU can shoot the rock for sure but for gosh sakes NW, find a man and get a hand in his face. You are going to have to match up to those shooters and dog them all over the court, make them feel uncomfortable shooting the ball and I like this led by Mike and Sapp plus our length is problem for many teams. IU is not the biggest team, They have the one big true frosh in the middle who is pretty good but Woody can neutralize him.

This is an elite D effort game for Iowa beating a great shooting team like IU....of course IU needs to first play an elite team who plays elite D and so far they have NOT......and win against an elite team in their hostile environment would be impressive to me.

Say what you want about their decrepit schedule, they are pretty much putting the hurt on everyone they play. Now maybe they are a paper tiger, but we play them the first time on their court and we had better be ready to bring it.

True that

Iowa's 6 Big Ten games have a combined record of 19-23 (Purdue and Michigan only have winning Big Ten records 5-2)

Indiana's 7 Big Ten games a combined record of 14-35 (Ohio State is only team with winning record at 4-3)

And if you figure Purdue is our next game you can compare the first 7 games as...

24-25 * for Iowa
14-35 for Indiana

*Pending results of tomorrows game. Could be 24-26 or 25-25,
