Injuries And Impact Moving Forward

Concussion for IKM too it sounds like. Win is a win, but it was costly. It shouldn’t have been like this

Fant should not have left his feet on that play. Just go down, nothing there on that.

Hockaday will be the most missed - If indeed he is done. Hated the leg wrap and crutches. I don't think Iowa can replace him

In the short term, the injuries very well could cost us a game or two. In the longer term, I expect the Hawks to be exceedingly formidable in 2019. It always sucks when starters or top guys go down ... but the silver lining is that it also allows you to develop depth.

I could easily see the Hawks drop the game against Indiana next week ... but, on the other hand, I'm heartened by a lot of the leadership I'm seeing by guys too. We might make it out of the woods yet ...

We talk about o line U, but these guys created almost nothing for the running backs. Both tackles let Stanley risk getting killed.

We will miss the defensive players and IKM and Fant if they can't go. It's time for the o line to pull their weight. It's amazing that the kids who have problems in the off season never seem to play to potential the next year.

Part of that was also how the Gopher D was scheming against Iowa's O. They went out of their way to try to take away the running game - and they essentially were daring Stanley to go other there and win the game with his arm. There were times last year when Nate couldn't do that. Against Minnesota today ... he did just that.

Also, the Gophers haven't been that bad this year at get altering the QB. Obviously the OL has work to do ... because Nate was pressured a bit. But, at the end of the day, the OL only gave up one sack. At least on one pressure, Nate failed to notice a blitzing DB ... so that's on Nate.
