Am I missing something on this rule? I would be supportive of the offense never being allowed to advance a fumble ever (regardless of forward/backward/time). I missed everything from the last 5 minutes of the first half but the last drive for a FG. What happened?
Pretty sure it’s just the offense (aside from fumbler) that can’t advance the football on a fumble inside 2 minutes. Then again I didn’t think Matthews tackle was “illegal”.

Its known as the "Vegas cover your ass" rule in some quarters.....Cant let a football game be decided like that!
