Inside word: CJ is in fact hobbled by injury

I hope to god so (not injury just Stanley moving up). If CJ can't run, this offense doesn't go. Doesn't solve our issues but having a mobile QB would really hide a lot of our weaknesses.

If this is true, Iowa would just be throwing Stanley to the wolves. The O-line couldn't protect the QB from a team of girl scouts.
I heard this on that and I quote as good as I can, "It's hard to protect a car from getting hit in the middle of the intersection, when that car can't put the gear into drive without a two second delay"

Shouldn't the car in the middle of the intersection already be in gear? I can see if the driver is wasted and just parked in the middle of the intersection, which would explain the delay.

We might have a chance at a good season since the coaches haven't had time to screw Stanley up. Next year should be awesome as well. About his Jr year expect the terrible Ferentz offense to be in full swing.

As soom as the kid makes some plays the following off season KF will grind him down about not making mistakes until his play becomes totally useless.

Oh great ... You mean a sense of urgency now that the season is over?
A matter of health actually. The car simply can't perform. One dude said it perfectly, "He simply can't move well enough to keep from aggravating his knee."

Hence the more he plays the worse it gets.

So now that the season is over the head coach is going to worry about CJ's bad knee and play Stanley. Got it.

Either way the qb production has to improve. No urgency,no attacking down field. All game long annoucessers saying inexperienced NW backfield vs veteran qb who didn't get it done.

The one problem I have with this is Stanley is not very mobile at all from what I've seen either. He has slow feet. Which means no matter what, he's going to be taking sacks too. That and prime is a known troll.

People still want a healthy CJ all day long. IF he's not healthy, then we want the next man.
Not gonna happen, we'd rather lose games (clearly). The bomb to Jerminic was a duck that he had to wait for...that was not impressive but prepare to see more of it.

Ferentz will play CJ regardless of what injury he may or may not have. CJ could be out there on crutches and as long as he can stand there long enough to take a sack or throw the ball, he will be there. Wasn't it the Rutgers game that Stanley went in when CJ hurt his shoulder? Played well and got them into scoring range, then here is CJ wanting back in and got to go. A little kick in the face for Stanley I guess as I would have thought the coaches would have given him the opportunity to see if he could get it in. I am not against CJ by no means, but if he is playing injured as I think he is, why not put the back-up in? If CJ is the leader we all hear about, it should not make any difference to him to spread the responsibility around some.

You don't suppose the NFL draft talk is getting to him do you? I'm asking a serious question . Also how about the new baby ? Just trying to look for some underlying factors. It's a mystery for sure. I know the protection had been atrocious but something is off for sure with CJB

Well it seems a lot on here we're talking about CJB as a pro QB? Just seems something has got him off his game. I really wonder about him being more concerned about his family than football right now ? Not trying to flame just throwing out some ideas...

CJ came in on 3rd and long and threw a TD against NDSU if that's what you're referring to.

I believe it was Iowalaw who said CJ has been off since Miami of Ohio, and that he was tentative to run and when he did, he seemed slow. I don't know if it's an injury or just weight gain, lack of flexibility, ultra conservative coaching seeping into his subconscious or just off field distractions, but go back and watch the first few games of the season...he was the same way then, but the defenses were worse so you didn't notice. Despite having a cannon for an arm that he showed 2 years ago in the bowl game, he refuses to throw the ball down the field as a senior. He's not confident, he's not fast, and he's not a fiery leader. Talent without confidence is useless and it loses to IAA teams and 1 win teams.
