Gentlemen I have questions bouncing around in my head and because I have no personal knowledge on these issues so I come here looking for quality opinions from those who know way waaaaay more about this stuff than I.
I've been a long time lurker on this board and have actually been around for a long time. I really appreciate this forum!!!
In my opinion this wrestling board is the cream of the crop. Relatively low level of flaming and BS w/ great info and insight can be found here. So many great posters ( guys who love the sport ) like chief, valholl, spicolli, other board admins. etc. etc.
I'm sure to some these Q's are redundant but forgive me I'm looking for your opinions. I seek knowledge so that is why I ask these annoying questions. Thanks in advance to all and go Hawks!

1.) What about Teasdale at 125 and Lee at 33 in '18? Is it gonna be Lee at 25 and Teasdale at 33.? Etched in stone?
2.) Who is the 184 pounder the next 4/5 years? What's the deal w/ 84 recruiting??
3.) " " " 149 " " " " "
4.) Will V. Turk come back healthy eventually?
5.) Murin > Gomez?

More mundane and seemingly redundant Q's coming.
Please bare w/ me. Thanks to all!

Holloway will be a heavy from here on out..
Nelson Brands isn't done growing and may be at 160 next year. He will be our 57 pounder as a Soph.
Sasso is our 49 pounder of the future if we get him.
Spencer at 125, Teasdale, Teske if we get him or Happel at 133, Happel, Teasdale and Murin fighting it out for 141.
184 will be Wilcke the next 3 years unless Myles Wilson beats him out.
Bowman at 197 for a year then Warner.

As of right now Wilcke is the future of 84. Iowa is recruiting Bryce Esmoil for 84/97. Myles Wilson is wrestling 82 this year so we could see him at 74/84 after RS year. If Iowa doesn't land Sasso we would most likely see Turk of Happel move to 49 after BS graduates, Glosser is there also. Warner after a RS year will be the starter over Holloway at 97.

Personally I don't think we see Teasedale at 125. I don't think he's done growing, still one more year of HS before stepping into the room, then a possible redshirt.

Wilcke will be able to go back to his more natural weight of 184 next year, as long as he hasn't grown out of it ( I don't think he has)

149 will be Sorenson for one more year. It'd be great to add Sasso to this recruiting class, if not we have plenty of decent guys around 141/157 that I have confidence someone could separate themselves and take the spot

Really hope we see a healthy Turk next year. I love what Carton is doing right now, but I'd love to have a guy nipping at his heals right now too

I think Murin = Gomez

I just want to see planning ahead 2-3 years or more. In the past we haven't, and we get holes in our lineup. You can't just "get them on the bus" in wrestling because of weights. So, our 184, 149 needs to be planned for. I'm not even sure we have a legit 174. Is Young even close to big enough to compete with the top 10? Some of those guys are monsters. Is Young planning on going 174? Or is he going to compete in fall for 165?

Is Turk hurt? I was under the impression that Carton beat him out.

I stood right next to Young in the back gym at midlands and I thought he was going 74. He looks big enough to me.

Great. He is listed at 157/165 on roster. Most D1 top 10 174 pounders could not even think about sniffing 157. I realize it's a year away, but if he is planning on competing for the spot at 165 he may not have time to get big enough. Kind of like we had 3 149 pounders a few years ago competing up until fall for the spot and then they weren't prepared to go at 157.

Am I blind? The roster actually shows him at 174. And remember this is the same roster that list Sam Stoll at 215 which isn't even a weight and I'm guessing he hasn't weighed since 6th grade. Either way, the lesson here is to not trust the roster for anything.

No, you're not blind. Deaf and dumb perhaps, but definitely not blind. ;)

A person may be better off looking at the bios for listed weight, but then going to the actual match by match statistics to see where they've actually competed, for those healthy enough to do so of course (the wrestlers, not the clowns looking for data!).

For example, Young is listed at 174, but is 21-6 on the year, with all of his matches being at 165.

My thought is that Young would've had the shirt pulled if Gunther got hurt which is why he stayed at 65...

We know we AM will most likely be at 65 for the next 4 years. Its a safe bet Young will go 74 regardless of what the roster says.

I understand all of this. I'm not the one using the listed weights on the roster as some sort of evidence of something.

There is plenty of time for Young to build into 174 and AM to build into 165 if thats the plan. Hard to see it working out any other way right now.

My reply wasn't aimed at you either, except for the "you're not blind" portion.

But I would presume most people would have the brains to understand the rest of it was a general statement to anyone reading it.

I guess that's my point for those interested in having a discussion (not for those attacking me for not using the online roster). Regardless of his weight now, are we preparing for that plan for Young to go 174? I know we as fans are, but has Brands or any coaches, or Young ever mentioned it? It may be in the works anyway. Regardless whether I am deemed worthy to mention it or not by the arbiters of fairness on this board, our coaches haven't always seemed to plan in advance very well for some of these things.

You don't think Brands plans out who we need to recruit to fill holes? I think in wrestling more then other sports its hard to determine how a 17 year old boy will fill out. Or who gets injured or loses interest in the sport. To say they don't plan is plain wrong.

In an interview last summer M* said he see's Young at 74. Kemmerer wrestled all last year at 149 and the summer at 65 and 70 kg. 157 doesn't seem to be a problem for him with the limited time to fill in the weight. I'm sure the staff has talked to Young and he is working his way to 174 to be the starter next year.

Right now we don't have any 174 on roster for next year. We go however have NINE 165 pounders. I figure some of them will move up to 174 like Moody and Young. Gunther probably stays at 165 along with St John. Bowman was at 74 last year, wonder if he moves back down. I would rather see him get bigger and man heavy and Holloway move back to 197. Guess will see next year.

I have no doubt he doesnt seem to do it as good as some other coaches
