It's an hour and a half podcast between a family medicine doctor and a mental health professional who has studied this. I thought it was very interesting to listen to.

One particular point he made at the end stood out to me, it wasn't a very big part but it shocked me a bit.

He said essentially that children today look at videos of high school students in the 90's and early 2000's and become jealous because they want that kind of socialization. I would sort of be interested in seeing how high schools are now, maybe some of the teachers could chime in on this. I always figured that it wasn't much different from what I experienced just with more screens involved and all the kids having smart phones. But it sounds almost like the high school kids only socialize with one another on the phones and that there isn't any level of closeness (as I would understand it) between friends.
