That might be technically accurate but not strictly true. First, in order to know that, school X (randomly lets say Kentucky) gets contacted by a family member and it’s confirmed “of course we would offer him”.... the school/coach has been in contact with the third party. Though it might not technically be “the school contacting the player” it’s clearly in violation of the intent of the rules. Coaches should know to tell the family member/aau coach/etc that I can’t make any comment about a player and this might already be a contact that would prohibit my recruiting him.I don't think its tampering unless someone with the school contacts the player or family member directly. Could be wrong though.
