First of all, this is a super great read on recruiting from the Athletic:
‘Beat by the bag,’ ‘friggin’ photo shoots’ and knowing when to bail: Assistant coaches’ recruiting confidential

Here is an excerpt where the assistant coaches were asked to name the most underrated recruit in the 2022 class:

MAC coach: Running back Kaleb Johnson (committed to Iowa). He has prototype size and speed. Is an every-down back who has carried a big load for his high school. Has been consistently good since his freshman year and I feel like for a long time he was one of those kids in Ohio who had all the MAC offers and Iowa State and slowly started picking up interest. Hasn’t been one of those kids who gets recruited by the whole Big Ten. Was committed to Cal, which was pretty unusual being from Ohio, but just flipped to Iowa. I’ve got a lot of respect for Iowa and the way they evaluate, especially on defense and at RB.
