Tyler Kluver is a great follow on Twitter and is also having a podcast coming out this week with Kevin Ward and Drake Kulick
Hey Tyler, did anyone die on the field last night? I get disgusted when people equate a game to real life wars where people really die.
What’s the name of the podcast?
It’s a figure of speech my man. He’s not really comparing it to actual war.Hey Tyler, did anyone die on the field last night? I get disgusted when people equate a game to real life wars where people really die.
You didn’t play did you. Not equating to death, however; when you put EVERYTHING into something-football, work, relationship, etc and it doesn’t work out.....that shit really hurts....like really really hurtsHey Tyler, did anyone die on the field last night? In my opinion, it is a piss poor "figure of speech."It’s a figure of speech my man. He’s not really comparing it to actual war.
Have you ever been shot at or watched a buddy die on the battlefield? Do you think you would still equate it to a meaningless game? You didn’t play did you. And yes I did play multiple sports. I and understand the hurt that accompanies a loss. You didn’t play did you. Not equating to death, however; when you put EVERYTHING into something-football, work, relationship, etc and it doesn’t work out.....that shit really hurts....like really really hurts
If I heard a coach speaking that way, I certainly would.Odds that players get that slang from coaches? Ya gonna go after them?
You’re out of control....you should take a nap.And yes I did play multiple sports. I and understand the hurt the hurt that accompanies a loss.

In the grand scheme of life, sports is a distraction, entertainment. That is my definition of a "meaningless game." I enjoy sports as much as anyone as long as it is held in the proper perspective. Of course, I am referring to my perspective. You’re investing a lot of time and effort on this message board for such a “meaningless game”

Vary fair. I think Kluvers tweet should be considered from his perspective. He meant nothing by it in comparison to actual combat.
If I heard a coach speaking that way, I certainly would.

Thank you for your service, now, get off your soap box and get over yourself. These guys are still in college and this is as close to a war as they have been.Have you ever been shot at or watched a buddy die on the battlefield? Do you think you would still equate it to a meaningless game?
