They weren't booing Nelson. The ref missed a couple of calls during the match, and the crowd at state always likes the underdog. So I think they were booing not getting to see those two go a little longer at minimum.

I watched the whole match. No clue what you're talking about.

If you are talking about the last take down attempt, it wasn't that close clearly after time had expired and also after nelson had eased up or it most likely would not have been one in either case. It was more the other wrestler acting like of course it should be going to overtime that caused any crowd reaction.

Waverly wrestlers and fans always think they get screwed. I'm only partially kidding--that Yant is a tough wrestler, though.

Don't know, don't care. Sounds like he belongs at Iowa. You will get amazing support at Carver and no where else. Well, just win and we will out cheer any boo's. Great heart!! I will be crushed if he doesn't end up at Iowa. There is always room for a Brands heart and style. Kid is going to be more than a the beast he already is.

I watched it on tv and didn't think there were any back points that were missed. Each one was a one count in my opinion. I think he should have been called for stalling in the third though.

Would have been a very quick count. Pretty rare for quick counts in Des Moines. He was stalling but was called for it. At the end it was clearly no takedown.

I think the crowd thought Yant had a last second td that wasn't awarded. Time was out, and the call was right. I don't think it was a personal thing against Nelson.

It was a great match, and both of those young men should be proud of their effort.

Definitely no backs. Would've been ridiculously quick counts to get to two. Don't disagree about Brands stalling in the 3rd, but Yant should have been hit early. All in all though, two darn good wrestlers going at it.
