An intoxicated man and woman fell asleep as they pulled into the drive-thru of an Orange City fast-food restaurant over the weekend, police said.

After firefighters awakened Luis Otero, 35, of DeLand, and Erika Nathe, 30, of Winter Park, Otero urinated in the drive-thru lane, an arrest report states.

Cocaine, marijuana and a bundle of U.S. currency also was found. Otero said the drugs and money were his, so Nathe, who was the driver of the car, was not arrested, Orange City police Lt. Jason Sampsell said.

Otero was charged with exposure of sexual organs, disorderly intoxication, and possession of marijuana and cocaine. He was released from jail after posting $2,500 bail, court records show.

Orange City police were called to the Steak 'n Shake at 927 Saxon Blvd. at 3:24 a.m. Saturday when they found Nathe asleep and unresponsive behind the steering wheel.

Otero was in the passenger's seat also passed out, investigators said.

The sport utility vehicle was stopped in front of the drive-thru speaker with its driver's side window rolled down, police said.

Police had to shake Nathe and Otero to wake them up. After firefighters checked out Otero, he urinated saying he had to go to the bathroom, police said.

Otero was arrested and searched and police found cocaine, marijuana and $1,840 in cash rolled up in a hair tie in his pockets, the report states.

Nathe said she and Otero had been at a bar about a quarter mile from the eatery. She was too drunk to drive and her family was called to drive her home, police said.
