Honestly surprised we’re above Purdue. They have been one of the best and consistent Big Ten programs for many decades even if that hasn’t translated into overall national success. While our last few decades have been feast or famine, with long stretches of famine and the feast not really being all that great.
But, where is Wisconsin? Losers
Pretty sweet.
Should also be noted that Iowa fball is #24 all-time in AP Poll appearances.
Per Winsipedia
That’s pretty impressive.Btw, there are only 7 schools who can be found on both lists (AP T25 appearances all-time for both FB and MBB)…
Ohio State
Michigan
Oklahoma
Notre Dame
UCLA
Michigan State
Iowa

Nice. I'm a bit surprised honestly, but it's cool to see.
I know we're not a blue blood, but IMO this means some people need to dispense with the "We're just Iowa" mentality. No reason this program can't continue to have some success. Historically, this has been a solid program, and expectations should be a little higher. Kinda gets under my skin when some people sell our program short.
Or they are looking at Top 25 appearances in the AP poll only. Not sure how they accounted for when it was only a top 20.^ Indiana is ? However, I’m NOT surprised that Indiana is behind Louisville. At this point, all-time rankings are only ranking IU above UL if 1) all they’re taking into account is NCs or 2) they’re clouded by the “old days,” IMO. I guess they could be considering historic conference strength, but people seem to rarely do that. If they did, programs like Illinois, Purdue and Iowa would be ranked higher than they already are in subjective lists, as the Big Ten has always been brutal.
