Iowa at Iowa State: Experience, Youth and going for #6

Iowa State does return a lot of players from 2020. They also lost key players from last year and who played in the 2019 CyHawk game.

Iowa returns two RBs who had far more experience than one carry compared to the ISU back. Ivory Kelly-Martin sprung a great block on either Mekhi Sargent or Tyler Goodson as I remember. Goodson had a long gain of 14 yards, while Kelly-Martin had a 9 yard gain. Sargent had a 22 yard gain, so hopefully a more experience Tyler Linderbaum can lead the Iowa rushing attack in this Saturday's game.

Linderbaum started at center and played every offensive down in the 18-17 win at Iowa State

Last year's top reserve RB last year was a key leader in 2020 and he was the #1 in the 2019 Cy-Hawk game.

Both Iowa WRs Tyrone Tracy and Nico Ragaini played in the 2019. Ragaini started and had five catches. Tracy's catch.

Tracy's 15 yard catch and two of Ragaini's catches came on the first drive leading to Iowa's 3-0 lead. Goodson had a 3 yard run on that first drive too!

QB Spencer Petras didn't play in the 2019 game, but he was Nate Stanley's backup.

IOWA Kickoffs were handled by Caleb Shudak in 2019, so he does have some experience.

Iowa returns one starter with FS Jack Koerner. He had 8 tackles on one huge recovery.

Others did participate. This play was huge. He wore #16 then, he wears #22 today. Play of the game.

I like Iowa's chances on Saturday, if they play clean, assignment football. It will be a war on the field at Jack Trice.
