Iowa Baseball related - PSA

If you have interest and can make it, two UI baseball pitching recruits - Jackson Payne from Waukee and Ty Langenberg from Urbandale - will be going against one another at 10:30 a.m. at Principal Park in the first round of the 4A Iowa High School Baseball playoffs. Unlike prior years, seating is reserved and is limited to a maximum of 1,800 in attendance.

Both pitchers are high school seniors and will be on the UI team starting next month.

To add, the Ankeny-PV game tomorrow evening should provide an opportunity to see Brody Brecht '21 play, and perhaps pitch. PV will likely throw Seth Clausen '21 who is committed to Minnesota.

I think he finished with 15 or 16 strikeouts as well.

If he was hitting 95-98 on a radar gun, I don’t want to be driving anywhere near the radar gun taking those readings as I don’t want a speeding ticket.

I did have the same reaction and wondered what gun they were using. He was dealing, for sure.

Brecht? I texted with a PV coach this afternoon about Brecht. Their scouting report had him at 88-92mph. His last 13 pitches were all 95mph+. I think he’s found a new gear.
