Iowa Baseball vs Ohio State

It's time for the last B1G home series of the year. It will be against Ohio State and it's a big one for Iowa. Iowa will honor their six seniors on Sunday and it could possibly be the last B1G home series for a few other guys as well. Iowa does have a midweek game against Omaha which is officially the last home game coming up too. On Friday, Iowa will also honor the 1972 CWS team. Iowa is 29-17 and 11-7 in the B1G. Get out an support Iowa this weekend whether it's one of the games or all three. Iowa needs to take care of business and have a couple things go their way to win the B1G in the final two weeks.

Iowa beats Ohio State 9-5. Iowa improves to 30-17 on the year and 12-7 in the B1G.
-Nick Gallagher threw seven innings, scattering 10 hits, 2 ER, 1 walk, 9 K's and gets the W. He threw 111 pitches.
-Kyle Shimp threw 1 2/3 innings, he cruised in the 8th but had a lot of trouble in the 9th. 2 H, 3 ER, 2 walks, 2 K's.
-Nick Nelson got the final out of the game via a K.

Iowa had 15 hits today and did what they needed to do on offense.

Bad day for Iowa baseball, our pitching was far from crisp. Ryan Erickson after a month of quality starts really struggled today. Drake Robison and Josh Martsching also struggled pitching wise. OSU had 19 hits today and I believe they had 13 yesterday? They have some good hitters, but they are not THAT good.

Jake Adams hit his 18th HR for Iowa today and Iowa did mount a bit of a rally in the 6th/7th when they closed an 8-1 deficit to 8-7. OSU had a big 9th though and brought in their closer Seth Kinker in the 7th and let him finish things off.

Sunday is a big day, Iowa is still not officially in the B1G tournament as Rutgers/NW/Illinois are not out of it.

Attendance was 1,219.
