-Iowa travels to beautiful Macomb,IL on Tuesday for a 4pm game vs Western Illinois.
-Iowa will start Cole McDonald vs Western Illinois.
-Iowa is 27-15 on the year and 9-6 in the B1G.
-Iowa then travels to Michigan State for a three game series this upcoming weekend.

Iowa loses to Western Illinois 7-5. Iowa sure has a lot of trouble with WIU ever since Brownlee took over there, it's like it's their big game of the year.

Iowa's pitching really got them in trouble early on by giving up free bases, which is ultimately the story of the game. Iowa walked eight and hit two more. That many free bases in unacceptable. Cole McDonald, Drake Robison, and Shane Ritter all really struggled.

Kyle Shimp returned to action for Iowa and he threw two scoreless innings, allowing two hits and had 3 K's. So that is good news.

Iowa actually outhit WIU, but once again it's about free bases and taking advantage. Tyler Cropley was 2-3 with an RBI, Jake Adams was 1-4 with an RBI, Ben Norman was 3-5, and Mason McCoy was 2-5.

With Iowa's RPI already being shot, the only impact this has is on our W/L record. Iowa returns to action this weekend @ MSU.

Iowa is 14-6 vs 201+ RPI teams and that is not going to cut it if you want to play in June. We've usually been really good under Coach Heller against poor RPI teams.
