Field Hockey would be the first sport to go at Iowa if I was in charge.
It’s not a high school sport in Iowa. No fan following. Zero Iowa girls on roster.
Of course with Title 9 you would have to add a new women’s sport.

100% agree but I am not sure what you replace it with... Men's gymastics would be replaced by men's soccer for the same reason you mentioned. Several D1 prospects with only Drake as an option in state.
Except that it is one of Iowa's most successful programs.......but you do what you want, which I assume is wanting to get men's hockey or soccer moved up at Iowa.
Hockey is great, but we'd be fighting an uphill battle in that sport like everything else. It is also not a very big youth/HS sport in Iowa, unfortunately.
Soccer is dog poo and we don't need more dog poo in Iowa City. We get enough of that with our current sports........
