OMG. I know Iowa men’s basketball has fallen off a cliff, but I never thought there’d be a thread made tracking their odds of MAKING the big 10 tournament. Lol.
Did you check out the game thread? Still plenty of posters "happy about the effort" on tonights loss lol

If we beat only Washington from here on out and the other games play out as expected (yes, I know they all won't), we miss as #16.

I know the answer is money, but why have 15 make it? Go with the top half or top 10 or whatever. Not like #15 really deserves it.

"Deserve" has got nothing to do with it. It's about fitting the optimum number of games in an optimum number of days to maximize TV and ticket revenue, while making sure your conference's best bets for making deep NCAA Tourney runs have something left in the tank.

I would say more likelihood than possibility. And not making it would just be one less loss. Which could hurt Fran's chance at breaking into the top ten in all time big ten losses.
Iowa will not make the BIG tourney, let alone the NCAA or the NIT. Which is just as well. I imagine most of the players will be more than ready for this nightmare to end. No matter how much you love the game, losing is no fun.
And not making the BIG tourney will make it even easier for Beth to do the obvious thing, the right thing, and hire a new men's basketball coach ASAP.
