Iowa has recruited Maryland, NJ hard in the past. So Pinstripe benefits in that way.

I'm all for trying an East Coast bowl, no matter if it's against a team not as highly regarded. Were we not on 5 game bowl losing streak, with two consecutive ass whippings, I'd be all for going against up against a team like Washington (even though I'm not sure that type of team plays into any of our strengths). Also the fact that we seem to be hard pressed to win, or even compete in games in the Pacific time zone, doesn't really have me too excited about the Holiday. We've got to win one of these bowls sooner than later.

I guess I don't really care. I'll watch the game, but won't travel to one regardless of location. IIRC, one of them was on a Friday...I'd vote for that one as a better option to enjoy some libations during the game.

I like our chances in all bowls except the Holiday. If Washington came motivated they would wreck us. A&M has no coach.

washington in the holiday would be a disaster. That's like a journeyman boxer trying to punch up two weight classes on short notice. Has the possibility of a butt kicking all over it. Fortunately it appears to be the least likely scenario.
Going to the pinstripe is the most likely outcome. Fans wanting to travel to a bowl will be disappointed as the overwhelming majority would prefer nashville.
They need a win and if the odds were good they could get one in whatever lower tier bowl they went to that would be the one I'd pick. Regardless of location.

The general consensus was our tackles would get owned by the highly touted O$U defensive line as well...

At this point, I really don't care who we play in the bowl game, but hope we don't get shipped out to Santa Clara.

I'd argue that NC State or Florida State in the Pinstripe would be tougher than Kentucky or A&M in Music City.

I like the SI prediction far and away above the others. Hate having bowl rematches, and Iowa has played Washington multiple times and NC State once.

Teams typically can't turn down bowl invites. First of all, I don't believe the conference will allow you too. Second of all, while other teams are sitting around for almost two months (Nebraska, Illinois, Minnesota), you are getting extra practices, workouts, and an extra game in.
