Not sure. This post from 8/31 had him still going there.
Maybe they can house both? Sebolt is obviously a pretty high level club. Maybe Alex is starting with a lower level all age group club.
Sebolt will not be coming to Iowa City. Alex’s club will basically be taking over what Sebolt was going to do in Iowa City.
It’s a little nostalgic for old farts like me who grew up wrestling as kids in Iowa City. Back in the late 1970’s, we used to train and compete as part of — you guessed it — the Iowa City Wrestling Club.
That name couldn’t be in better hands than with Alex. He’s going to absolutely kill it.

Awesome!! Alex is such an outstanding wrestler and role model --- I really hope that it becomes a premier club, on the level with Young Guns.
Did It not work for Sebolt? Did the Brands make the decision about which club would be here? Absolutely nothing against Alex, wish him the absolute best but Sebolt has been feeding us a fair amount of recruits recently. We already know there is something between the Brands and Big Game, we need something bad between the Brands and Sebolt.
No reason for concern at all. Just a matter of logistics. Sebolt will continue to turn out great wrestlers and I’m confident that we’ll keep that pipeline strong. Alex will do a fantastic job, I have no doubt.
That’s the type of answer I was hoping for, an answer that it was maybe too much driving for Sebolt, Slaton and Knight. Alex will do great and maybe start another pipeline. Just did not want another club bridge burned.

I’ve seen Alex work with groups of kids and he is a fantastic teacher. He also has strong values that actually resonate with kids because they look up to him and will listen. He’ll make better wrestlers and better people with this club I have no doubt.

Just wasn't the numbers in IC as expected (from personally conversations, some were hoping to join but a lot of the Jefferson kids couldn't make it out that way, and so the practice partners weren't there) so decided to just focus on Jefferson.
My question going to be what happens with EIWC? Did they completely break away from the hawkeye family? I know they aren't in CHA anymore, but it seems like Terry built that as a way for post grads to earn a little money.
I’m confused. Are you saying there’s some bad blood between Big Game and Brands and you’re hoping the same is not true for Sebolt?
It doesn’t sound like there’s a problem there but more traveling and participation issues. But I’m with you on this one.
I said it about Sebolt and it applies with Alex if a guy can earn a living doing what he loves….go for it….. not many get that opportunity
Yes, with Big Game (from what another club coach told me it was between the Brands and Carew) unless it has been cleared up, which I have not heard. Had been discussed on the board before. Came out during the time of Garvin going through recruiting. But what I have heard from my daughter who is his friend, Garvin is doing very well at Stanford. I was just hoping something didn’t happen between the Brands and Sebolt, that Sebolt not at Carver anymore. But answers on here state that is not the case.
I think the bad blood thing is overblown, and as far as I know everything is great with Sebolt. Let’s not be making controversy where none exists. No need to even give baseless rumors any oxygen.
Someone correct me...I thought the story floating around here regarding BG was Brands has a feud with St. John for the obvious ISU connections and with Carew and St. John being tight, it just evolved into Carew siding against TnT?
Is that way off?
That’s why I asked it as a question as to why Sebolt wasn’t there. Glad to hear it’s just logistics.
