They wont, because they want to tax it too.
The trick is getting the taxation right so the black market doesnt take a lot of the business. California learned this the hard way.
Perhaps, but there's probably an additional motive that involves just more than getting caught by the police, like public image, or maybe work drug testing. I've never tried it, and never wanted to, but I have to get tested as a condition of my security clearance. No, that's not intended as a subtle brag.
There are multiple opportunity costs. There's lost tax revenue, lost production revenue from people who are in jail, and enforcement costs.
I call B.S., even the THC drug test is waived for qualified people in important positions that we need. Not the norm, but in isolated cases it does happen.
Well your calling BS doesn't apply to me. I'm not that important to have it waived.

LoL. It actually kind of is job security. I've been selected for several assignments at defense contractors because I have a clearance. Also a hardware company that imports from China and operates a customs foreign trade zone.
My unit out of C.R. had no problem demoting an E-4 to an E-1 bc of a positive THC test, and then said he was capable of deploying to Iraq. Such B.S.
It can be if the majority of that 16% don't normally vote, but like you I'm doubting legalization will tilt the scales.
Are we sharing stories about the military doing shady things? I have a doozy.
